Forest Grove School will hold its basketball homecoming on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at the last regular play basketball game of the season against the Denison Wildcats. The crowning will be held at halftime of the 5th/6th Boys basketball game at approximately 6:00 PM. 

Forest Grove's Queen candidate is Za’mya Whittley. Za'mya is the eighth grade daughter of La'Deese Whittley and Derell Lowe. She is the reigning Miss Forest Grove. Za'mya's hobbies are hanging out with friends and family; being on her phone; and playing softball, basketball, and running track. When she grows up, she wants to obtain a medical degree to become an OB/GYN.

King candidates include eighth grader Eduardo Chavira-Merino. He is the son of Virginia Chavira and Paulino Merino. Eduardo is an eighth grader at Forest Grove School. His hobbies are playing video games, basketball, and football. When he grows up, he wants to be an astronaut. 

King candidate Joshua Halpain is the 13-year-old son of Belinda and George Halpain. He is in the 8th grade. In his spare time Josh enjoys playing video games, basketball, and running track. When he grows up, he wants to be a professional basketball player.

King candidate Elijah Jefferson is the 13-year-old son of Brock Jefferson and Ronniesha Baker. His hobbies include fishing; hunting; shooting guns; playing football, baseball, and basketball; and spending time with his family and friends. When he grows up, he wants to become a professional football player.

King candidate Jesse Johnson is the 13-year-old son of Jim Johnson and Renee Johnson. He is in the 8th grade at Forest Grove. His hobbies include playing video games and hanging out with his friends and family. He loves to play basketball, football, and track. When he grows up, he wants to be a game developer.

King candidate Shooter Jones is the 14-year-old son of Kodie Jones and Casey Jones. He is in the 8th grade at Forest Grove. Shooter’s hobbies are football, playing video games, and hunting. When he grows up, he wants to become a US soldier.

King candidate London Newson is the 13-year-old grandson of Darlene Newsom and son of Chris Newsom. He is an 8th grader at Forest Grove School. London’s hobbies include hanging out with friends, playing video games, and participating in basketball and track. When he grows up he wants to become a lawyer.
